IxDS is closely connected to the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam (Fachhochschule Potsdam, FHP). In 2003, FHP founded the first complete MA/BA Interaction Design programme in Germany. It has since claimed a leading position in this field for education and research. The associated Interaction Design Lab has accomplished a number of outstanding research projects and has been awarded a place in the “land of ideas“.
IxDS design director Reto Wettach is professor at FHP for tangible and physical interaction design since 2005.
In October 2009, FHP has been awarded the prestigious price for excellence in teaching for its research-oriented approach in education.
