Unique social and technical constraints make on-the-go interaction a demanding field. While this topic is a domain of interaction design, the specific requirements and high standards call for a specialised focus. With the state-of-the-art as background knowledge, we collaborate with our clients to make the latest technologies really usable and useful for people.
understanding users and contexts
Mobile applications of all kinds are highly context-dependent, and use-contexts range widely as people take their devices everywhere. We follow users with the elaborated set of tools that our User Research studio offers–because a deep understanding of social context, capabilities, and motivations is essential for developing devices or services that suit people’s needs.
Based on these insights, sometimes we come up with solutions that are not yet available on the market, despite the industry’s fast innovation cycles. Together with the Prototyping studio, we can check technical feasablity, refine the concepts, and — above all — test our solutions in the hands of users. This last step is crucial for addressing the often very personal nature of mobile devices.
designing technology and services
Beyond devices, we have built an expertise on the service environment. This is especially important in the mobile sector: a device is often just a gateway to services such as social networks, or cinema tickets, and the services are themselves bundled with data plans, notifications, etc. Despite their sometimes abstract nature, we think that services also need to be evaluated–experienced–by real users in order to get informed feedback. Therefore, we turn them into objects, plays, and stories which, besides being useful for evaluation, are also a lot of fun.
